Lions Club Youth of the Year Award

Our Year 12 Head Prefect, Suhasi Patel was nominated last year for a Lions Youth of the Year award. 

The first round of the process was an interview in front of a panel of judges at the Mirrabooka Community House. After the interview, there was an open ‘press conference’ section, where each candidate were asked two unseen questions in front of a large audience. Suhasi then had to present a five-minute prepared speech. She chose the subject of gender equality for this section.

On Sunday 24 February 2019, two awards were presented, an Overall Club winner and a Public Speaking award. Suhasi was presented with the Public Speaking award. She will now go on to compete against award winners from other clubs on Saturday 9 March.
