Academic Achievements
- 86% of our students achieved a WACE graduation and the median ATAR of our cohort was 75.9, a significant improvement compared to 2017.
- 80% completed a Certificate II or higher in Vocational Education and Training courses.
- All our ATAR students were eligible for university courses on the basis of their ATAR scores or through possible alternative pathways. Our students have achieved entry to a range of courses at the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University and Murdoch University.
- Our attainment rate of 97% was excellent and above like schools and above the State mean of 96%.
- Our student Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) results have continued to show improvement.
- The Year 7 Literacy results indicate our students performed above similar high schools and the state in reading, writing and numeracy.
- Year 9 Reading results are consistent with similar and all state high schools. The decline in writing achievement at the school is consistent with that of all schools, the state and the nation.
- The Year 9 Numeracy results indicate 99% at or above the National Standards. The Year 7 Numeracy results indicate 97% at or above the National Standards.
- The works of two students of our Gifted and Talented Visual Arts students were selected for the Northern Perspectives Art Exhibition
- Students at Balcatta Senior High School have access to special entry bonuses for entry to Edith Cowan University, Curtin University and the University of Western Australia.
